My Story

I grew up in the suburbs of Houston, TX raised by my wonderful parents Cora and Rick. I also have the pleasure of having a not so little brother, Nathan, who is about a foot taller than me and is probably the funniest person I know. My parents raised my brother and I to fall in love Jesus and to actively follow him. I will never be able to express how grateful I am for that. My family has carried me through many things and is such a strong support system. Hopefully I will be able to share with you more about them in separate blog posts because they are amazing, I love them will all my heart.
You didn't click here to read an autobiography so I'll give y'all the gist of my childhood! When I was 4 years old my mom took me to a ballet recital and I told her I wanted to be a ballerina. I ended up dancing for 12 years and I absolutely loved it. The cute blonde girl in the picture is my life long friend, Taylor. We've been friends since we were literally in diapers and I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am for her! I love Tay like a sister and can go to her for anything. She's currently in college at TAMU and rocking it!
So eventually I quit dance and began running cross country and track in middle and high school. I also joined choir in fourth grade and became an ultimate choir nerd. I did both of these things all through high school and to this day I run three times a week and music is my LIFE.
I graduated high school in 2015 very insecure about my future. I had just broken up with my boyfriend of over a year and I was not planning on going to college. Not going to college right out of high school was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made, but also one of the best. I will definitely open up more about this time of my life in a separate blog post because what I was feeling then is so so relevant to share with teenage girls. Graduation came and went and I was soon hit with the reality of real life. I was very distracted and I could feel that God was calling me to put Him first in ALL things, not just the areas where I wanted Him.
After high school I began working two jobs. I wanted to pursue a career in music so my mom discovered a program called AMTC (actors, models, and talent for Christ). This program was completely life changing. I not only became a better singer but I grew spiritually and began a relationship with God like I have never before. I ended up getting baptized for a second time during this program. It became clear to me that God has called me to spread his word through music. I find myself tearing up typing this because I'm being taken back to how God was tugging at my heart. I fell deeply in love with Jesus and have been ever since.
In February of 2016 I met a really cute guy at church. He was honestly the coolest guy I had ever met. I remember going to lunch with him and a friend and my jaw dropping while he told stories about his adventurous upbringing in Alaska and his love for fast cars. We quickly began dating and almost immediately began planning our wedding! We were both so aware that God had brought us together. Two months later Caleb proposed to me in a 1968 Chevy Malibu. I was only 18 years old and had found my soulmate. I will elaborate more on our love story in another post. :)
Caleb and I got married on March 25th, 2017 and our wedding was a dream. There were over 300 of our family and friends there and it was the best day of my life. Our love story is just beginning and I can't wait to see where God takes us.
So that's me! I pray as I start this blog that Jesus would flow through my words. I pray you are encouraged through scripture and real life experiences to trust Him with your life. God loves you unconditionally and will never leave you.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
